Storytelling And Multiple Intelligences

Story telling is a very good tool to explain any fact of life. People see it all the time when they talk to each other in order to express their thoughts and feelings. Teachers are also implementing it in classrooms as a resource to develop the multiple intelligences in their students. This is a great resource that teachers can use to teach the students facts that happened in the past that are really important nowadays.

The learning process is getting better every day; there are a lot of teachers and people studying around the world, because constantly, people are looking for information about different situations just because they want to be informed. Story telling has been used successfully in the learning process through the time, because this is an excellent way to express events using words, images and sounds. When people tell stories using attractive sounds and beautiful images they for sure are going to call the listener attention. And, that is the main point.

English teachers use this tool everyday in class, because they want their students to understand perfectly what they are explaining. Story telling will help tem improve the class and make it more dynamic and interesting for students. This resource is excellent if teachers want to teach their students how to develop their different intelligences, this could be through videos, songs or anything that tells a story. And, students will use multiple intelligences to identify the structure of the story, and maybe they can construct an extended story. Students use their abilities when they do these types of activities, so they need more than one intelligence to do a great job.

If every teacher implemented storytelling as a daily activity and promote multiple intelligences in the class, maybe the education quality would be better these days; and, not only for students, but also for teachers and community in general, because an excellent education is good for everybody in the world. So we, as teachers, should change our habits in class and improve them to transform the learning process into something interesting for the students.

We all know the importance that education has, and the impact that it causes in our lives. For that reason, we should be interested in how we can improve the education process in our houses and schools. Our goal must be to learn as many things as w can, and later teach them to other people. So, let us be stories tellers and tell the world the beauty of knowledge.

The Emancipation Of The Story

                                            

          Emancipation of  the story is what allows to the story to be interesting because they are the tools that the author uses to get the attention of the people usining his voice, gesture and drama to keep alive the story, the literary idea of the author as originator of the story outhoritative version changed people´s perception of story.

          Oral tradition is kept in many cultures for many yearsbecause it is a good way of teaching people because they can learn by listening an interesting story, during this process they adquire knowladge and experiences, and they can keep all that knowladge and experiences, and transmitit to the future generation.

          Nowadays, with the new technology , it is easier because the author can uses vedeos, pictures, and people can feel more anxious about what they are watching and hearing. it is very important for  all sudents becaus of knowladge and experiences that they can adquire, the emancipation of the story in oraltradition is also a good way tool for professors because they can get the attention  of all students and the learning willbe better.

          In the last centuries this oral tradition has been desapearing because of technology and crities, so the authors and professors need to keep alive this oral tradition, and a good way of teaching.

                Nowadays, technology is an important part of our society. It intends to reach every aspect of the human daily life and the field of education is experiencing these changes in a very useful way.

                The development of multimedia technology for learning offers new ways in which learning can take place in schools and homes. Conveying information through texts, graphics, videos, animations and sounds, it’s a teaching method that represents an opportunity to improve students’ learning.

                With the traditional books, students can explore an almost infinitive variety of information, these can lead to new discoveries, but the story ends there, without a chance to use and demonstrate what they have learned. This does not happen if a multimedia method is used properly. It allows students to select the right tools to apply them to the learning task, considering their audience, the amount of information and the manner of linking it for others to retrieve.

                In order to meet individual learning needs from students, teachers have to focus more on being facilitators, and taking the multimedia projects as a support to help them to acquire new knowledge and to develop their skills. Giving an example, Sound as one of the five elements of multimedia. It allows students to utilize the power of the imagination, recreating the story in their own minds.

                Even though, these technological advancements are not used often for the right reasons. They are usually used out of convenience as a method of entertaining students. That is why we should encourage ourselves, as future teachers, to use them in a more efficient way, so, students will be able to handle knowledge in this technological era.

                With the past of time teaching and learning have been apply in different ways to help students, and all the people to learn new things that cause them to be inform about a lot of different topics. Teachers always are looking for new things to teach new information that they always have. Storytelling has been a very nice tool to help English teachers to their English students and it has also been a great tool for these students to learn new things.

                Storytelling is a mean for sharing and interpreting experiences. Storytelling helps us to share new information in a practical way that makes learning more interesting. This way of learn new things would help us to interpret the information in a better way. Other aspect that storytelling has, is that it can be applied or can be adaptive for all ages we do not need  to be adults to learn through this type of teaching, and of course if you are a child or a young person you can also learn through storytelling. The storytelling can be used as a method to teach in an easier way cultural norms, and values.

              Storytelling is a big tool for today English students because it helps them more, and they become engaged, and of course remember what learned. The storyteller helps students to imagine new point of view to transform new experiences. Also, the student is able to create personal connections whit the information that he is receiving from the teacher or from other source. When a student through dynamics ways he is more available to keep the knowledge that he got.

               As we say at first, teachers are created new to teach their students. They are always thinking how to give their best for them, and how to make them learn in a good way, so the storytelling can help teachers because with this, they can make students get the knowledge in a way that their students keep more the information for a long time and they can make that they do not forget it.

              Sometimes, it is difficult for some students to retain all the information that they receive, but with the apropiate information tools it could be easier to keep such information. Nowadays, we can use or implement the storytelling as an important tool for learning and retaining more the information that we receive from any source. The storytelling and learning are with any doubt two concepts that are closely related with each other, and if we put it in practice for sure we will take advantage of that.

Three Reasons To Master The Art Of Storytelling.

           Before going on with the main topic of this essay, we should remember that storytelling is the act of telling a story normally through oral speech . But with nowadays` technological advances, we can do it through many ways. TV and social networks help us to tell a story to a public that we can not have in front of us. But, that is also a disadvantage because people who listen to somebody telling a story through TV can easily lose the interest of what she or he (the speaker) is saying and turn off the TV and go away. In this essay, I will try to make people know the importance of telling a story presently with a public that can really see you, and undertand what the speaker means.

           Everytime when someone tells a story that person tries to keep people`s attention, and if the story is good and catches the attention of the audience, they will be able to remember it for a long time, and they will also be able to tell the story to others and transmit the same message that the story wants to share.

           Since stories are memorable, they are easy to retell in the future. So, if you tell to your audience a good story, they will remember it, and communicate the details of the message or messages that you mean to share in your speech. In that way, the story will not be lost with the pass of the time,and it also will be modified to transmit the same message or another ones.

           A good message in a good story can make people change their minds or they perspective about life or something (like when people talk about environmental issues). Good listeners know how to recognize a good story, it does not matter their ages, they can also find a hidden message in a story if they know how to listen to the person, and take actions to get a better world, better humans and better societies.

           This is what a story can do on people only if they are well listened. People can transmit the message to the following generation. Even indigenous tell stories to their people in order to preserve the environment in which they live in, and that has made that their tradition do not get lost with the pass of the time.

             Storytelling is the conveying of events in words, images and sounds by improvisation or embellishment. Stories or narratives have been shared in every culture as a mean of entertaiment, education, cultural presentation and to instill moral values. Crucial elements of stories and storytelling include plot, characteres and narrative points of view.

            We can consider storytelling as a media for sharing and interpreting experiences. Stories are universal, they can bridge cultural, linguistic and age-related dividers. Storytelling can be adaptative for all ages. Storytelling can be used as a method to teach ethics, values, and cultural norms and differences.

            Stories are effective educational tools because listeners become engaged and therefore remember. While they are engaged, they are able to imagine new perspectives, inviting a transformative and empathetic experience. Listening to a storyteller can create lasting personal connections, promote innovative problem solving and foster a shared understanding regarding future ambitions. The listeners can then activate knowledge and imagine new posibilities.

            What does the term multimedia really mean? Thought actually plural in its spelling, multimedia represents a “singular” integration of media objects, such as texts, graphics, videos animations and sounds to represent and convey information. A project-based learning is a teaching method in which students acquire new knowledge and skills in the course of designing, planning and producing some tools or performance. However, simply adding words to pictures is not an effective way to achieve multimedia learning. The goal is to instructional media in the light of how human mind works.
            Finally, storytelling is a timeless human tradition. Before the written word, people used to memorize elaborated stories full of morals that shaped cultures for generations.
