With the past of time teaching
and learning have been apply in different ways to help students, and all the
people to learn new things that cause them to be inform about a lot of
different topics. Teachers always are looking for new things to teach new
information that they always have. Storytelling has been a very nice tool to
help English teachers to their English students and it has also been a great tool
for these students to learn new things.
Storytelling is a mean for
sharing and interpreting experiences. Storytelling helps us to share new
information in a practical way that makes learning more interesting. This way
of learn new things would help us to interpret the information in a better way.
Other aspect that storytelling has, is that it can be applied or can be
adaptive for all ages we do not need to
be adults to learn through this type of teaching, and of course if you are a
child or a young person you can also learn through storytelling. The
storytelling can be used as a method to teach in an easier way cultural norms,
and values.
Storytelling is a big tool for
today English students because it helps them more, and they become engaged, and
of course remember what learned. The storyteller helps students to imagine new
point of view to transform new experiences. Also, the student is able to create
personal connections whit the information that he is receiving from the teacher
or from other source. When a student through dynamics ways he is more available
to keep the knowledge that he got.
As we say at first, teachers are
created new to teach their students. They are always thinking how to give their
best for them, and how to make them learn in a good way, so the storytelling
can help teachers because with this, they can make students get the knowledge
in a way that their students keep more the information for a long time and they
can make that they do not forget it.
Sometimes, it is difficult for
some students to retain all the information that they receive, but with the
apropiate information tools it could be easier to keep such information.
Nowadays, we can use or implement the storytelling as an important tool for
learning and retaining more the information that we receive from any source.
The storytelling and learning are with any doubt two concepts that are closely
related with each other, and if we put it in practice for sure we will take
advantage of that.

We have to take into account that storytelling can make learning more effective because stories help us to process and remember information, like kids for example, this storytelling is useful because it touch a part of consciousness associated with the magic and creativity of childhood.

It is a creative way, and because it is often done with subjects that the listener already has heard of, the learning process is done quicker, and in a significant way.

Another reason, it is that for students sometimes prefer a way more dynamic or interesting to pay attention, instead of the old way to teach with a book where the student have to read and just that. Taking into account this, I can mention that storytelling is used in WordWorld because they not just teach the right way that a word is pronounce, also they are teaching through the storytelling some aspect like values that are important in our daily life.
ResponderEliminarStorytelling is great for little kids; I cannot imagine storytelling in a university but it could be used for self- teaching; maybe to learn another language by listening and repeating or listening and writing what was understood from the telling.
ResponderEliminarI think this is a nice way to catch children's attention, specially when teachers have to give some information in huge groups of children. teachers can go to the past and associate it with some topics in the present. It is perfect for children because they are very curious about somethin that happened sometimes ago. :P
