Storytelling is the conveying
of events in words, images and sounds by improvisation or embellishment.
Stories or narratives have been shared in every culture as a mean of
entertaiment, education, cultural presentation and to instill moral values.
Crucial elements of stories and storytelling include plot, characteres and
narrative points of view.
We can consider storytelling as a media for sharing and
interpreting experiences. Stories are universal, they can bridge cultural,
linguistic and age-related dividers. Storytelling can be adaptative for all
ages. Storytelling can be used as a method to teach ethics, values, and cultural
norms and differences.
Stories are effective educational tools because listeners
become engaged and therefore remember. While they are engaged, they are able to
imagine new perspectives, inviting a transformative and empathetic experience.
Listening to a storyteller can create lasting personal connections, promote
innovative problem solving and foster a shared understanding regarding future
ambitions. The listeners can then activate knowledge and imagine new
posibilities.
What does the term multimedia really mean? Thought
actually plural in its spelling, multimedia represents a “singular” integration
of media objects, such as texts, graphics, videos animations and sounds to represent
and convey information. A project-based learning is a teaching method in which
students acquire new knowledge and skills in the course of designing, planning
and producing some tools or performance. However, simply adding words to
pictures is not an effective way to achieve multimedia learning. The goal is to
instructional media in the light of how human mind works.
Finally, storytelling is a timeless human tradition. Before the written word, people used to memorize elaborated stories full of morals that shaped cultures for generations. Today, kids can barely sit through class, but spend hundreds of hours devoring Harry Potter Books. We are wired for communicating through and learning from stories

ResponderEliminarThe educational ways have been changing through the years, but there are some of the original ones, which still exist and which function as great tools for making the teaching and learning process more effective; one of those techniques could be the story telling because through the use of it teachers can keep their students motivated in the class, thus for some people it is easier to understand if they listen a short story, which summarizes huge information and knowledge, than spend long hours watching someone explaining a big amount of things because this become tedious or boring, but if instead of doing that, we play a video of someone telling a story or explaining something in a quick and funny way, it is almost sure that all students will get involved in the activity, that is why as teachers we should use all the tools we have on our hands and that we consider will be helpful for our group.
ResponderEliminarI really like storytelling multimedia because it promotes a different scenario that we do not usually have. The fact that can be applied for young people and adults makes it more interesting and valuable. It is an excellent media that represent a different environment, where the students will probably keep motivate and engaged with the class. On the other hand, I believe that with the use of this technique, student will be more likely to participate and share their own experiences. Besides that, students may acquire knowledge that can take into their everyday lives as well.
ResponderEliminar"Today, kids can barely sit through class, but spend hundreds of hours of hours devoring Harry Potter Books", This is true and I think that the use of storytelling and multimedia could be a great way to help children who suffer from ADD. When reading Entertaining stories with a great message, students could learn easily and memorize some of the contents they can`t in a class because sometimes they are not paying attention to what the teacher is talking about.
ResponderEliminarNowadays we can say that children spend a lot of time in front of a computer,as we know most of that time is doing things that could not be productive, actually kids are more familiar with technology and, storytellers has become more interesting for them than physical books so I consider this is a good way to make them learn and spend their free time properly, like killing two ducks at the same time, We as teachers may use this techniques to make kids interested in literature by going along with technology.
ResponderEliminarStorytelling is a really important tool and a funny way to share knowledge with others! through stories we can organize knowledge in an oral way that allows the listeners to use their minds and imagination in the process. Using multimedia in telling stories encourage students to learn contents as well as using creative skills in order to tell the story of another and to reflect their own ideas.
ResponderEliminarImpressive is nowadays the creativity that teachers have to have for awaking students interest so they can feel attracted to knowledge and real education; storytelling is a great way to reach and encourage the learner interest into any topic, besides through it all kind of messages about morals, values, traditions and so on can be transmitted taking into account the technology which is a molding tool, useful for any task.
ResponderEliminarStorytelling has as a flag the creativity and imagination to recreate educative life events, that permit to learn through things that we can sometimes assiciate with our life, taking into account that association is an effective way to learn, most of the times with this we don`t have to memorize everything just remenber our stories making easier to keep those knowledges in mind.
ResponderEliminarApart from this, we can includ the technology and suport the stories with pictures, sounds and anything that can transport to the listener to the story place.
Long before modern media entertained us
ResponderEliminarstorytelling was a common pastime, and a good
storyteller was a valuable attribute to the community.
Folktales and fables are one of the oldest educational
tools through which cultures have passed down
values and lore from one generation to the next.
Nowadays Properly designed, a technology-based learning
environment provides students with more options
than are typically available in traditional learning
situations Media have been used with more
traditional delivery methods (lectures, tutorials) to
support essential teaching objectives, such as
clarifying and illustrating complex subjects, adapting
to individual learning styles, improving retention and
aiding and recall and finally reaching nonverbal
learners. One of these delivery methods is known as
strorytelling ,i would like to know more about this topics is an excelent resource in the educational system
Well, I think storytelling has been an important part of human culture for centuries and even when it has been transformed by advances in technology, with audio and video recorders, computers ans many other things that make this possible, it is transforming how young children think, communicate, and learn.
ResponderEliminarIn teaching, storytelling should play an important role, especially when teaching young kids, because in that way they can learn important lessons while they are listening a good story. Also, when kids listen to more stories, their vocabulary is being improved, as well as their imagination. It is something that should be rescued in the classrooms because through storytelling we can also pass onto the kids some of the culture of our country.
